Homemade Video Sunglasses with HUD

Here's a page showing how Don Papp made his own pair of video sunglasses with Heads Up Display that looks pretty subtle. There are many pictures of the work in progress, all worth checking out.

These glasses are pretty cool. What can you do with them? I wouldn't mind a display option available with voice command every now and then.

Try hooking up a radio communicator to that rig. I won't put ultrashortwave near my head.

Don Papp has been in the wearable community for quite some time. I remember when I consulted him about that project. It's a Kopin 320M display from an M1 stuck in sunglasses with VGA input. Not sure what you could use it for, but sounds pretty cool... Too bad there isn't anything NEARLY as cool as that in the market nowdays

These are fantastic, and it's too bad the original article disappeared.

I'd love to buy an off-the-shelf version of these, but I guess that's a few years out.
