This lightweight unit from Motion Research Corporation has built-in GPS and attaches to your motorcycle helmet to display speed, radar alerts, RPM, and shift alerts. A similar model for skydivers includes altitude.

How long till someone hacks it to scroll digg.com?

Heh, that would be the world's most frustrating web browser... from the specs, the display has: 32 bar graph segments, 6 alphanumeric characters, and 4 general purpose indicators.

On the plus side, I like the way that they have done the dual backlighting: during the day you get ambient illumination through the clear window, and at night you have a normal red backlight.

For the curious, the information is coming from a short-range wireless link from a box you wire in to your cycle's instruments. So the helmet-mounted portion doesn't have stuff like a GPS receiver or radar detector, but it does have its own power supply, running off AAA's for 20 hours with backlight on, even longer with it off.
